Kamala Harris will stay in Pittsburgh as she prepares for next week’s presidential debate.

Vice President Harris is scheduled to arrive in Pittsburgh Thursday and will stay in the city until she flies to Philadelphia for her first debate with former President Donald Trump on Tuesday night.

University of Pitt Professor Dr. Jerry Shuster tells KDKA Radio this move by the Harris campaign is unprecedented.

“That is the unique aspect of her campaign strategy and it’s something that, if the Republicans are going to address their deficiencies in anyway, shape or form in Western Pennsylvania, they gotta do pretty much the same,” said Schuster.

Schuster says that Harris’ frequent visits to the Pittsburgh area are appropriate because Western PA is “critical” for a victory in November.

This upcoming trip is her 11th visit to Pittsburgh. No further details about her activities while in the city have been released.
