County Executive Rich Fitzgerald hopes we are a month or two away from taking the masks off and getting back to normal.
But that won't happen if the current trend continues. Demand for COVID vaccines is plunging.
On the 1st of April almost 80,000 people got their first shot in Pennsylvania. By the 20th that number dropped by almost 50%.
Several big vaccine clinics started inviting walk-ins to fill thousands of unfilled appointments. Some healthcare systems are requesting fewer doses.
Over 200 million Americans have been vaccinated and the results show it's safe! Herd immunity is reached when 75% of the adults in the state have gotten at least one shot. 43% have so far.
The number who say they won't is estimated to be 15%.
That means if you are undecided, if your mind isn't closed, now is the time to do something to stay healthy, save lives and get us all back to normal sooner rather than later.
Let's do your part to end this pandemic!
