The Kiski River gator was caught over the weekend.
Police say two kayakers spotted and caught the alligator with the help of two police officers.
In a text late last night, the police chief said “Chomper, as we have named him, is in custody” and “is now in the hands of humane officers" who will find a new home for the reptile.
The 4-foot gator was first reported to the Fish & Boat Commission by a group of kayakers on July 30th.
