A Wilkinsburg food market has been ordered to close.
The Allegheny County Health Department says a recent inspection of Global Food Pittsburgh in the 900 block of Penn Avenue revealed live and dead bugs in products like cornmeal, oat flour and rice.
Rats apparently chewed holes in other foods being sold and the holes were covered by duct tape.
Gnawed plantains for sale were observed in the front of the store inside an open box.
Cassava cakes also showed evidence of bad packaging with bloating of bags and one had liquid inside.
In total, there were 11 violations. See the full inspection report here.
