A decades-long mystery could be on the verge of being solved.
A local plumbing company has been asked by Pittsburgh police to send an excavator to a site on Bonvue Street in Pittsburgh's Perry North section today.
KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin says it all started when a woman from the area, now living in New England began having nightmares.
She recalled her father bringing home a large box that may have had blood on it when she was a little girl.
Kelsey Hussak, co-owner of Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing Company, tells KDKA Radio they’re digging in the yard to see if a body was buried in the basement of what used to a house there in the early 1980's.
She says they’re willing to do anything to help local police.
She says detectives didn't reveal any of the details of the case to the company, but regardless, she says they're willing to do what it takes help bring closure to the case.
“Hopefully we can find it in a timely manor to be able to figure this out for them,” said Hussak.
