Construction begins on McKnight Road today, with lane restrictions in place until summer.
PennDOT's Jason Zang tells KDKA Radio people can expect delays.
“We’re not closing McKnight Road at any point,” said Zang. “There will be lane restrictions, the majority of the work will be happening at night.”
The work will happen weeknights from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. between Venture Street and Perrymont Road, but there will be single-lane restrictions during the work 24 hours a day.
The work is part of a $25.5 million improvement project.
It's been about 15 years since McKnight Road underwent a major project like this.
