Police have identified the man charged with shooting a Monroeville police officer earlier this week.

32-year-old Jamal Brooks is accused of firing multiple shots into the officer's police car, hitting the officer multiple times.

Brooks was arrested that night, but the Big K Morning Show's Marty Griffin reports he did not cooperate with police following his arrest, making it difficult to identify him.

“He won’t give his name, he had no ID, they can’t trace any vehicle to him or anyone he knows, apparently there’s not usable finger prints on anything . . . he will not give them a finger print,” said Griffin.

He's facing numerous charges including attempted homicide and assault of a law enforcement officer.

Allegheny County DA Stephen Zappala said he's meeting with law enforcement today about the incident.
