A man accused of shooting at a mail carrier on the North Side is facing new charges in another shooting the same day in Ross Township.

Authorities say 28-year-old Martinel Humphries fired shots on McKnight Road that hit multiple vehicles.
Two people were injured. Township Deputy Chief Brian Kohlhepp said the suspect parked his car and began shooting at random.
“There was no known association between the shooter and the people who were the victims that were shot at,” said Kohlhepp. “We have no indication that he knew any of them, it seems like it was just a complete random act of violence where he pulled off on the side of the road and just decided to begin shooting at random people.”
Minutes before that, Humphries allegedly fired four shots at a mail carrier on Waldorf Street in Perry South.
Police say video and shell casings show Humphries was at both scenes.
Kohlhepp adds the situation could’ve been much worse.
“It’s been said over and over its amazing we don’t have a bunch of dead bodies, the fact that he was there and just shoot at people, not all people were moving, two of the people were standing there and so the fact that nobody was killed is a miracle,” said Kohlhepp.
He's being held in the Allegheny County Jail on attempted homicide and other charges.
