A man was arrested after an attack on staff in a Pittsburgh hospital emergency room.

Police say he assaulted several hospital workers at Allegheny General Hospital, punching staff and throwing a computer at a nurse.

Now 43-year-old Michael Robert Johnson is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, a nurse told police that while she was in the triage room with Johnson, he "became belligerent," threw a computer at her and hit her before walking out of the room.

A second nurse told police when she heard Johnson yelling and screaming, she told him he needed to leave.

Instead, he walked up to a registered technician and slammed her head and body into a glass wall, before punching her.

Another nurse who tried to intervene, was also punched in the face and her chest several times.

He continued his assault until he was restrained. He also had an incident last year at Allegheny General where he attempted to hit a security guards and staff, but was not arrested.

He has a preliminary hear set for later this month.
