The number of guns stopped by security at Pittsburgh International Airport continues to inch closer to an all-time record.
A man from Millersburg, Ohio is facing a felony weapons charge, accused of bringing a gun to the TSA checkpoint Tuesday afternoon at Pittsburgh International.
Allegheny County Police say the gun was in 47-year-old Steven Lapp's backpack and he did not have a valid concealed carry permit.
In addition to the felony charge, Lapp can be fined up to $10,000.
Guns stopped by TSA security also affect other passengers, temporarily shutting down security lines.
Tuesday’s gun is the 40th stopped at the airport this year. It’s the second most in the history of the airport, behind only last year’s all-time record of 44 firearms.
