A man was shot outside of his home in Wilkingsburg late Thursday afternoon.
Police responded to a call for gunshots shortly after 5:30pm and found a 25-year-old an with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced dead a shortly after 6:30pm.
Allegheny County Police were called in to assist in the investigation.
They found that the victim was inside a car in front of his home when someone in a vehicle that pulled up beside his shot him.
Police say evidence at the scene shows the victim fired back and hit the suspect's vehicle, a black Kia Optima with an out-of-state license plate.
They say there is damage from bullets and the rear window was shattered.
Police advise anyone who sees this vehicle to avoid contact and call 911 to report its location.
