There was an arrest by federal immigration authorities in Shaler Township Tuesday morning.
Shaler Township Police say a “law enforcement arrest” happened in the 900 block of Wible Run Road at 10:20 a.m. with a man taken into custody.
Authorities say the arrest “did not involve the Shaler Township Police” but instead was confirmed to be an arrest by federal authorities or ICE agents.
The arrest was originally reported to 911 as an abduction.
Immigration enforcement officers have been active around the country over, cracking down on people in the United States illegally.
The arrest is not confirmed to be ICE activity, but there have been immigration crackdowns around the Pittsburgh area throughout 2025.
