Mayor Corey O'Connor is looking for street clearing solutions so Pittsburgh's residents won't have to worry after the next snow storm.
O'Connor met with various departments Thursday.
He says between trucks being down and not having enough drivers, they want to figure out things like training drivers quicker, or putting to use trucks that are just sitting in the parks.
And if GPS trackers are not down, why?
"And then getting tools that are sitting out, not being used, how do we get them operating so that we can get them used? And training drivers. There's a lot that has to be done, and we're not saying that's going to be done tomorrow, but at least we have to set a plan to get us back on square one so that our residents see that we're moving forward," he said.
On another matter, asked about meeting with non-profits about payments in lieu of taxes, O'Connor says while they have had general conversations before his swearing in, nothing firm is on his calendar.
