PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) A 17-year-old McKeesport male has pleaded guilty and will serve 2 to 4 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

Philip Payne is pleading guilty for a single count of involuntary manslaughter and a firearms violation stemming from an event that occurred in July of 2021.

According to criminal complaint, Payne unloaded a gun and believed it was empty when he pointed the weapon at 18-year-old Dontae McKenith.

While joking around with the gun, Payne pointed at McKenith, pulling the trigger killing him.

Payne fled the scene and later turned himself into police.

Payne's guilty plea means he will spend two to four years in state penitentiary.
