Funeral arrangements have been announced for former KDKA Radio personality Mike Romigh.
He died over the weekend at the age of 67 and had been suffering from a blood disorder.
Visitation is set for Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home in Chippewa Township, Beaver County.
A Mass of Christian Burial is on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City and interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Brighton.
Romigh spent nearly 20 years with KDKA Radio.
A native of Beaver County, Romigh envisioned himself following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a steelworker, but instead, found his calling behind the microphone.
Romigh joined the station in the 1980s, and reflected on his time here with Robert Mangino for the stations' 100th birthday back in 2020.
“It just means . . . the apex of my career, I spent 16 years there, in various roles and the idea that it was a dream of a kid who grew up with no college education in Beaver Falls . . . they gave me an opportunity that I will never forget,” said Romigh.
KDKA Radio Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn described Romigh as “good people.”
“He was the talk show host that wanted to have a conversation,” said Hathhorn. “He didn’t want to show how smart he was, he didn’t want to be combative, although he would be, he wanted to have conversations with people.”
