A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with homicide in connection with a shooting last month.

Terry Newton was taken into custody Wednesday for the shooting of Monessen High School football player.

Police allege he shot and killed 16-year-old Amari Altomore on November 29th at a home in Monessen around 8:00 pm.

Newton was taken into custody without issue and has a preliminary hearing set for December 30th.

Another man has been charged with homicide in connection with a shooting earlier this year.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said Alec Stefanovits, 27, was arrested Wednesday for the January 23rd incident on Minton Street where one person was killed and another was injured.

He was already in the Allegheny County Jail on unrelated charges.

He was reportedly hired by another man to commit the murder, who was then later shot and killed earlier this month.

Federal authorities have also arrested a fugitive wanted in connection with a 2019 murder in Wilkinsburg.

Jeremiah Ligon, who has had a warrant since 2020, was taken into custody in Penn Hills Wednesday.

He was the final suspect wanted for the murder of Mager Rainey, with two other people already arrested.

Police said Rainey and two women were sitting in a car on Jeannette Street on October 20, 2019 when they were shot, the two women were injured.

Ligon is facing multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit criminal homicide.
