An investigation is underway after nearly 40 cats were left abandoned in a Westmoreland County field.
Ninth Life Rescue Center says that 37 cats were dumped in a field off of Athena Drive in Export.
They add the cats were too terrified to move, but were found by some good Samaritans.
Ninth Life says other than some matting and flea issues, the cats are in “pretty good health.”
Along with Wayward Animal Rescue in Greensburg, Ninth Life is asking for information to help find out who is responsible and accepting donations with both rescues paying over $4,000 to take care of the cats.
You can contact Nine Lives at 724-217-4257 or Wayward at 724-610-9646 with any information.
No word on any adoption information. None of the cats are have been spayed or neutered.
