A new Dollar General is open for the people of McKeesport.
Located on the 3000 block of Liberty Way, this brand-new Dollar General also has produce for sale.
That includes things like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, strawberries, potatoes and more.
Their produce section offers the top 20 items typically seen in traditional grocery stores.
The new location is at 1011 Liberty Way in Liberty.
And, Dollar General plans to expand its produce footprint throughout the year.
“While DG is not a grocer, we care about and are invested in the health of our hometown communities,” Dollar General Public Relations tells KDKA Radio in a message. “As of March 2024, we currently have fresh produce in more than 5,400 stores, giving us more individual points of produce distribution than any other U.S. mass retailer or grocer. We also plan to add produce in approximately 1,500 additional stores in 2024.”
