Pittsburgh Police is warning the public of a new phone scam that's going around targeting residents of Pittsburgh.
The scammers are pretending to be a Zone 6 detective, using what looks like a Zone 6 number.
They are calling and telling the victims they are investigating a crime and demanding payments and gift cards to settle the warrants or charges.
Pittsburgh Police reminded everyone that warrants will never be asked to be paid over the phone.
