After years of planning, it is finally here as the City of Pittsburgh hosts the NFL Draft.

Up to 700,000 people are expected over the next three days to watch the draft and take part in the various free activities at Point State Park and along the North Shore over the next three days.

If you plan on heading down to the Draft, there are some things to know and be aware of.

On the North Shore, there are three entrances into the draft complex. One is Tony Dorsett Drive, between PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium, at Riverfront Park and on the other side of Acrisure at Casino Drive.

The Point State Park has one entrance, right at Commonwealth Place.

The draft runs noon to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Draft events are free to get in, but you MUST download the NFL OnePass app.

The app also has a schedule of events, other logistical information and will alert you in the event of any emergencies.

Some other things to be aware of:

Take Pittsburgh Regional Transit or ride-share down to the Draft, parking is at a premium and expensive. The Gateway Clipper is also taking fans from Station Square to the North Shore on Friday and Saturday only. There is no service on Thursday.

To access both the North Shore and Point State Park, you’ll need to use the Roberto Clemente or Andy Warhol Bridges.

There is heavy security in both draft areas, with local, state and federal officials on hand keeping the large crowds safe.

Tight airspace restrictions are now in effect in Pittsburgh as well.

Federal officials say a temporary flight restriction spans a two-nautical-mile radius up to 2,000 feet, classifying the area as National Defense Airspace.

That means no unauthorized drones—any aircraft in the zone will be closely monitored by federal state and local authorities.

Boundaries stretch from Perrysville Avenue in the north, Petrell Way in the west, West Liberty Avenue in the south, and Blakey Court in Oakland to the east.

Officials warn pilots who violate the restriction could be intercepted, detained, and face penalties ranging from fines and license revocation to criminal charges or seizure of their drone.

Visitors may still see drones in the area however, those are pre-approved.

You can also check out the new Arts Landing where KDKA Radio will be broadcasting from Thursday and Friday.

Mayor Corey O'Connor says will also be a big day for many local businesses.
