No letup in gun violence over the weekend in the Pittsburgh area.

Allegheny County police say the shooting occurred around 7:15 Sunday evening.

Officers and medics were called to Farnsworth Avenue and that's where they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

No suspect descriptions have been announced. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.

That shooting comes just hours after a man was shot dead in a police shooting Sunday morning in Forest Hills.

Police were called to the 2300 block of Ardmore Boulevard where they were told a man was yelling at people and displaying a gun.

Officers were reportedly trying to talk with Marcus Allen when he fired a handgun at them.

The officers returned fire wounding the 38-year-old multiple times.

Allen was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The officers were not injured and both are on paid leave.
