NWS confirms two tornadoes in Greater Pittsburgh area on Monday

The National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes touched down in the Greater Pittsburgh on Monday as severe weather spanned throughout the area.

The first tornado touched down near the intersection of Ohio, West Virginia, Marshall, West Virginia and Washington, PA. It was rated as an EF2 tornado that brought maximum winds of 110-112 mph.


As for the second tornado, that took place in Greene County, southeast of Graysville. This was an EF0 tornado, with maximum winds of 85 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, these are the second and third tornadoes in the NWS Pittsburgh area respectively.
