I understand not wanting to cause panic. However, a doctor or an expert that does not tell the truth is evil.
You may be wondering what I am referring to. Well, that is because you missed a small headline late in the day on December 24th. You were likely too busy gathering against guidelines! You failed to notice the headline that “came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.”
This headline was overshadowed by Christmas celebrations. It proclaimed that Herd Immunity was a moving target and that Dr. Anthony Fauci incrementally & deliberately ginned up the numbers believed to be needed for herd immunity. He told us what he thought we wanted to hear instead of the truth.
According to the New York Times, the nation’s top infectious disease expert said, ‘When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent. Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85.’
Wow. So much for following that so-called ‘science.’ In fact, the Centers For Disease Control does not estimate the percentage needed for herd immunity because they do not know. They admit it. No one knows. Any number is speculation. Herd Immunity varies from disease to disease. And, it is hard to pinpoint in humans.
“We need to have some humility here,” Fauci added. “We really don’t know what the real number is. I think the real range is somewhere between 70 to 90 percent. But, I’m not going to say 90 percent.”
So, is the assessment based on facts and science or feelings and gut? Well, it was partly science and partly gut in accordance to what the esteemed member of the White House coronavirus task force felt Americans wanted to hear.
‘And his fib fooled the child. Then he patted her head and got her a drink and sent her to bed.’ ~ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
This comes as a new Rassmussen poll finds 15% of registered voters are in no hurry to get the vaccine while another 17% say they’ll never take it. Hmmm, Wonder why? The survey also indicates that 33% will eventually allow the vaccine to be injected into their arms but only after seeing how it works out on others.
Let’s put Dr. Seuss, errr, Fauci’s idea - a wonderful, awful idea - about herd immunity into Pittsburgh colloquialism: he was just jaggin’ our wires.
He having fun with us. Embellishing facts. He did not tell us the truth because he thought we were too skeptical about the vaccines.
The technical term is called LYING.
Instead of informing us, he lied. First about masks and now about herd immunity and vaccines. And to think that, since 1968, he has been one of the world’s most cited scientists.
I had gut feeling about this guy in March. Yes, I trusted him to an extent. He is an expert and esteemed scientist with access to unbelievable information.
But, maybe he is also power hungry bureaucrat who toiled for decades then fell in love with the warm glow of the spotlight. Maybe he is an evil genius. I don’t know.
Dr. Fauci’s ‘thought’ is dangerous. It may now turn anyone who was skeptical but obedient to his guidance and the severity of the virus into an opponent of the ’science.’
Maybe, just maybe, Fauci’s ‘reading of the tea leaves’ is one reason why President Trump never fully bought in to his alternating advice. After all, he had a front row seat to the doc’s magic show.
Maybe the compulsive yammering is why millions of Americans never bought in to the severity of this deadly pandemic, either. Maybe they could actually sense a charlatan.
And to think this man’s advice affected the world’s economy, elections, and nearly a year’s worth of our lives & traditions. This speculation and ego has now made the job of the front line worker much harder. Dr. Fauci’s advice, which he now admits is not necessarily based on science, has resulted in others making decisions that ruined countless careers, livelihoods, and businesses, even families that were forced into bankruptcy and poverty.
A trusted scientist did not tell us the facts or truth. That is evil.
Coincidentally, Kevin Battle wrote this while ‘The Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ was airing on his TV. He is Co-Host of the KDKA Radio Morning Show
