Pennsylvania State Police release 4th of July holiday enforcement results

The Pennsylvania State Police released the results of their Independence Day holiday enforcement efforts from July 2-5.

In western Pennsylvania, there were 185 crashes, six were fatal, killing a total of six people.


Statewide, the total number of crashes was 680, 9 were fatal, killing 9 altogether.

Also in western PA, 184 DUI arrests were made and almost 2,800 speeding tickets were issued. Troopers made 503 DUI arrests across the state and issued 8,935 speeding tickets in total.

Nearly 12,000 other citations were issued by State Police.
