The Pennsylvania Supreme Court upheld the death sentence for Rahmael Holt, who killed New Kensington Police Officer Brian Shaw in 2017.
In a release Thursday, Westmoreland County DA Nicole Ziccarelli said the Shaw family deserves justice.
Holt was sentenced for the killing in 2019 and a judge in February of 2020 sentenced Holt to the death penalty. A jury unanimously convicted him for killing Shaw during a traffic stop in November of 2019.
Holt ran from the car and began firing his gun as Shaw chased after him.
