If you plan to visit a county park, police have a warning: lock your doors and don't leave valuables in the car.
Allegheny County police say they've seen an uptick in theft, especially around county parks.
Lt. Scott Scherer says culprits are looking for easy targets, who leave keys and valuables on the seats or floor of their cars.
He says North Park, Hartwood Acres, and Harrison Hills have been the most often targeted parks lately.
Scherer also says culprits work in teams to scout easy targets. And often, park visitors leave things behind - even keys - because they don't want to have to carry it along on a walk or run.
