Penn Hills School District's superintendent said its schools won't play any games against Kiski Area School District for the rest of the academic year.
The decision comes after allegations of racial comments and gestures from some fans at Kiski toward Penn Hills Middle School volleyball players.
According to Penn Hills Superintendent Nancy Hines, several boys in the Kiski student section allegedly made racial comments and gestures toward Penn Hills volleyball players after a match on March 2.
Hines said both districts started their own investigations the next day and notified the WPIAL. Hines also noted she interviewed seven volleyball players and a parent who reported seeing and/or hearing offensive behavior.
Here is a list of the games that will be affected:
· March 30: PHHS JV Baseball (away) + Varsity Baseball (home)
· April 6: Linton Softball (home)
· April 8: PHHS Softball (away)
· April 29: PHHS Softball (home)
· May 4: Linton Softball (away)
