The plans include having the Pennsylvania Turnpike collect the tolls, which PennDOT would then use to pay for the new bridges at all nine locations, including one on I-79 near Bridgeville.

Some lawmakers opposed to the plan want to require PennDOT to get legislative approval first. Representative Russ Warner wonders why money from the Build Back Better bill can’t be used.

“There’s trillions of Federal dollars that were just allocated, and a large portion of that for transportation and infrastructure,” said Rep.
Warner.

He was a guest with Larry Richert and Kevin Battle on the NewsRadio KDKA Morning Show. A toll of $1 or $2 is estimated to cost a daily commuter crossing the bridge between $500 and $1000 a year.
