A Peters Township man pleaded guilty Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter after leaving his son to die in a hot vehicle.

Khang Nguyen put his 3-month-old boy Kayden in a minivan and drove his other son to school before going to his business in Upper St. Clair.

He told police he intended to be there a short time, but was distracted and forgot about the baby.

His attorney, Bill Difenderfer was a guest on the Big K Morning Show Thursday morning.

“It was the perfect storm,” Difenderfer explained. “My client owns a very busy business. He had a woman quit on him at a peak time that morning. Also, he never has his child in the car in his normal routine.”

The 33-year-old Nguyen will serve two years probation.
