1:20 p.m. UPDATE: The FBI investigated and confirmed that both anonymous calls originated in Australia. Those calls look connected. The FBI and NRPD are continuing to fully investigate the source of the calls and hold those responsible accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

The District adds that all after school activities and games are cancelled at the secondary campus out of an abundance of caution. The football team's game at Plum is not impacted and will be played as scheduled.

UPDATE: The unknown caller contacted Pine-Richland High School’s main campus again just before 11:25 a.m.

A member of the Northern Regional Police Department talked to the caller. That caller was threatening an “imminent school shooting."

Both the high school and middle school are on lockdown.

Dozens of officers are already on the campus due to an earlier threat. The FBI is also responding to the scene.

For parents: The high school and middle school campuses are closed. Do not report to the high school nor the middle school. Parents should not come to the secondary campus. Students will not be permitted to leave the campus until the situation is cleared.

According to reports, a bomb threat was called into Pine-Richland Friday morning.

Latest updates will be posted by Pine-Richland HERE.

In a message sent to staff, parents and student, the middle and high schools are both on lockdown and the campus is closed following the threat.

P-R staff says the main office received a phone call from “what sounded like an adult male. The anonymous caller stated that a ‘bomb’ would go off in the high school parking lot in ‘five minutes.’”

A Norther Regional Police Officer was already in the high school and was able to “immediately coordinate and assess the situation.”

After call, measures were taken to ensure the safety of all students.

In an updated message just after 10 this morning, the district said the dogs had cleared the perimeter of each school and were working to clear the inside. Then they would move to the parking lots.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

In the Montour School District, a pellet gun was recovered from a student’s vehicle. That gun did not enter the school.
