The University of Pittsburgh is concerned about a COVID-19 outbreak on campus after it says "many students" went to parties without social distancing or masks over the weekend.
"We are concerned this behavior may lead to a significant outbreak of COVID-19 at Pitt as has happened at other schools," the university said Tuesday in an email to students.
The university's Medical Response Office is asking students who attended a large or unsafe gathering over the weekend to act as if they have been exposed to COVID-19 and get tested.
"There will be no disciplinary action as a result of testing," the email said. "Our goal is to keep you and the community safe."
Students can get tested at Posvar Hall on Wednesday, March 17 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. or Thursday, March 18 between 10 a.m. and noon.
