One-third of the children in the United States had unreliable or insufficient health insurance prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine released a study, finding that 34-percent of children were under-insured in 2019.
The analysis found that families covered by private, employer-sponsored insurance and those who earned too much to qualify for Medicaid experienced the most trouble affording healthcare with their insurance.
The deadline to enroll in health insurance through the ACA is December 15 at midnight.
