Want an early look at what the new airport will be like?
As part of the continuing tests to make sure the new landside building at Pittsburgh International Airport will be ready this fall, the Airport Authority is looking for 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers who will, on a yet to be determined day in September, do a full-scale dress rehearsal of getting ready for a flight.
Everything from checking in, going through screening, checking their luggage and more.
Everything will be just like you would be if you were flying out.
So, that means you'll need your Real ID or passport.
They want to make sure that when the airport does open later this year, that the proverbial kinks will be ironed out.
“A strong trial program ensures that when the new PIT opens, our team is confident, prepared and ready to deliver a world-class travel experience for passengers,” said Christina Cassotis, CEO of ACAA. “It’s our opportunity to uncover challenges, validate our processes and build confidence so that when we open, we are fully prepared to deliver a world-class airport experience.”
