Pittsburgh becomes unexpected casualty of Wendy's roast campaign

Lots of people enjoy a good roast, and that's what Wendy's was trying to capitalize on when it brought its roast campaign to Twitter on Thursday.

So in honor of National Roast Day, dozens of other brand accounts flocked to the fast-food chain's replies to get excoriated mercilessly.

The Tampa Bay Rays took a pretty big loss. Wheat Thins and Bagel Bites got theirs. Even Gordon Ramsay himself got involved.

But the roast campaign wasn't all sunshine and roses; the City of Pittsburgh was unceremoniously dragged into Wendy's crosshairs just in time to catch a stray.

A small school in Kansas, Pittsburg State University, decided to roll the dice on Wendy's spicy dealings. And it got what it wanted and then some.

Pittsburg State didn't go down alone.

"Incredible. You're a worse Pittsburg than Pittsburgh," Wendy's tweeted.

We're not sure what was really intended by Wendy's social media manager, but it's vague enough to go in any number of directions.

So thanks a lot, Pittsburg State. ;-)
