East End Brewing Company in Pittsburgh has jumped into the world of hard seltzer drinks.
On Thursday, the company announced the release of G&T Hard Seltzer, a gin & tonic-inspired beverage.
Scott Smith, founder of East End Brewing, said work began on developing the drink last year.
"After more than 12 months of research, two dozen bench trials with different combinations, processes, and ingredients, we’re pretty excited about the results. And now we’ve finally arrived at our destination: The Canning and Release Day for our G&T Hard Seltzer," he write in the release.
Smith says the gluten free seltzer has familiar flavors of gin like juniper berries and orange peels as well as flavors of tonic water. They also added n gentian root to provide some bitterness as well as lime.
The 7.5% abv drink is sold in 4 packs of 12 ounce cans and available at the brewery or online.
