A convenience store in Homewood has been ordered to close by the Allegheny County Health Department.

The ACHD says the store called Boretta, was operating without a valid permit and failed to submit construction/remodeling plans before construction.

The location on Frankstown Road had improper cleaning and sanitation facilities, including lack of a three-compartment sink to wash, rinse and sanitize equipment.

The store had lack of proper garbage storage, plumbing and lighting issues.

The closure was posted on October 16 and as of October 19, is still active.
