Pittsburgh Police officer hit by car during traffic stop

A Pittsburgh Police Officers was hit by a car that pulled away during a traffic stop.

Police stopped a car at Frankstown and Fifth Avenuesn just after 3am Monday morning.


The vehicle reportedly matched the description of a vehicle that left the scene of an earlier Shotspotter alert.

As police were approaching the vehicle, the driver took off, hitting one officer in the leg.

The officer was evaluated by paramedic and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
