Violence Prevention detectives made a couple of arrests over the weekend, stopping two men with guns.
Officers say Javon Embry had a firearm in his pocket in Bedford Dwellings.
During a traffic stop police seized pistol magazines and rifle ammunition.
Embry was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, among other things.
Separately, officers patrolling in Homewood say Isaiah Beatty had what appeared to be a gun protruding from his t-shirt.
He was stopped and did not have a concealed carry permit.
Beatty was arrested and also charged.
