
A consumer alert has been issued by the Allegheny County Health Department for a Mexican restaurant/ dance and nightclub in Pittsburgh.
The Insomnia Club & Banquet Hall in Brookline was hit with several violations.
A few high-risk violations include, food in a cooler being held at a temperature of 57 degrees, employees unable to wash their hands because of a blocked hand sink and live and dead roaches, “too numerous to count” in the kitchen.
Some medium risk violations include no hand sink in the basement bar and bug spray was seen at the bar.
Low risk violations include a frozen bag of wings on the flood in the kitchen and ventilation hood not working in the kitchen.
Insomnia is located at 810 Brookline Boulevard.
The alert was placed on the Health Department’s website on October 27 and as of November 1, was still active.
