
The Pittsburgh Police Violence Prevention Unit detectives made several drug and gun arrests over the past week.
Pittsburgh Public Safety said detectives were on patrol in Carrick last Thursday when they saw a man that appeared to be armed.
The man, identified as 23-year-old Taylon Streeter, tried to hide behind a parked vehicle but was found with a gun around his waistband.
He was charged with carrying without a license.
On Friday, VPU detectives stopped a car at the intersection of South Braddock Avenue and Sanders Street in Regent Square.
During the stop police say they discovered over a dozen bricks of heroin, fentanyl bills and other drugs, along with $8,372 in cash.
24-year-olds Andre Yates and Brandon Diggs of Penn Hills and 23-year-old Armoni Burton of Greensburg were arrested.
Finally, on Saturday, police conducted a search warrant from an ongoing investigation at a residence on the 1100 block of Buente Street in Spring Hill.
Detectives found 70 brings of heroin and $5,283 in cash. 28-year-old Deria Mahone and 27-year-old Djon Fuller were both arrested.
