Pittsburgh is getting praise nationally, not for its pierogis, but rather, its pizza.
Rent.com created a top-10 list noting the best cities for pizza and Pittsburgh ranked 2nd in the United States, just one spot below Rochester, New York.
The list was calculated population of the city, pizza per density, pizza per capita and proportion of pizza restaurants in the area. Pittsburgh came in with a population of 300,286, 3.87 pizza per density, 70.93 pizza per capita and 18.19 proportion of pizza restaurants.
In terms of quality of pizza, that remains a subjective art form. Native Pittsburghers can associate the city’s best pizza with the likes of Calientes, Fioiris, Slice on Broadway and others.
Rounding out the top-10 list were New Haven, Ct, Philadelphia, PA, Bridgeport, CT, Miami, FL, Buffalo, NY, Cambridge, MA, Worcester, MA and Manchester, NH.
