The pictures and video I've been sharing from some of my new friends in the Ukraine are disgusting, appalling, and heartbreaking: Russian missiles striking apartments with families inside, homes destroyed, hundreds of civilian lives lost.
As the politicians try to broken peace, communities like ours are being called to action to send support for the innocent people caught in the crossfire. Pittsburgh's tech and medical communities are answering that call.
To help spread the message, Pittsburgh Technology Council's President and CEO, Audrey Russo sent out an email blast to all of the organization's members, that includes the Get Marty team.
"Just a few minutes ago, the Pittsburgh Technology Council received an urgent request from our partners at the U.S. Commerce Service (an arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce), requesting a list of urgently needed medical supplies to help victims in Ukraine." - Audrey Russo, PTC President & CEO
Russo joined me on the radio this morning to talk about the list from the U.S. Commerce Service of medical supplies needed in the Ukraine.
Another Pittsburgh organization is already taking action and it's one that always answers the call overseas when people are in need, the Brother's Brother Foundation.
BBF President Ozzy Samad joined me this morning with how they're helping and what you can do to be part of the effort.
Here's how you can donate to help the Brother's Brother Foundation:
