Josh Wander says what is happening in person is much worse compared to what you see on TV

A McKeesport native and Pitt graduate who know lives in Israel is describing the horror after Hamas surprisingly attacked the nation.

As of Tuesday morning, an estimated 1,600 people, at minimum, have died as a result of the violence.

It's believed that at least 11 American's have died in the attacks.

Josh Wander has dual citizenship.

“You’re talking about people, terrorists that have obviously no inkling of morality, came in and completely wiped out towns, men, women, children, brutally murdering them in their houses and their cars,” said Wander, who ran as the Republican nominee for the Mayor of Pittsburgh in 2013.

Wander adds the images people see on television can’t do the reality justice.

“Shock, rage, all sorts of feelings, whatever everyone is seeing on the news, whatever everyone is seeing in videos, on social media cannot begin to describe what we’re seeing actually on the ground here. It’s must worse,” said Wander.

It has now been four days since the Hamas militants made their way into Israel, bringing that kind of violence to the nation for the first time in decades.

Wander says he, along with some of his six children have got to the call to serve in the Israeli military, in some capacity.
