The Democratic National Convention in Chicago is at the halfway mark. Two of the delegates from the Pittsburgh area were part of the ceremonial roll call Tuesday.

One of the delegates representing Allegheny County at the convention is Sean Meloy. On the Big K Morning Show, he gave his takeaway from last night, with both of the Obamas appearing:

“It was absolutely electrifying,” said Meloy. “I was in Denver when Barack Obama accepted the nomination in 2008 and that was a really electrifying experience, but the last two days so far, have matched that energy and that’s just so exciting and so it’s and honor to be here representing Pennsylvania.”

Meloy adds he is looking forward to seeing former president Bill Clinton speak tonight.

Joining Meloy in Chicago is Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker. He touted the Aliquippa Quips High School football team and its three Pro Football Hall of Famers, the only school in the country that can boast that accomplishment.

The DNC roll call featured a musical salute to each state with 'Motownphilly' and 'Black and Yellow' being played paying homage to both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

During the roll call, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro called the commonwealth the birthplace of freedom and democracy.
