The first phase of the project will feature a permanent Ferris Wheel, along with a 300-unit apartment building, trail improvements, a marina and what Piatt is called the “Current”, a “building that will have food and drink experiences and a 4-season public garden that connects the inside of the project to the riverfront.”
Lucas Piatt, CEO of the company, said during the meeting that they have been working with neighboring communities, getting their input on the designs.
Piatt also added that they focus on the project has been on pedestrian access and the importance of easy access.
The project also aims to be a place that is enjoyed all-year long, with planned ice skating rinks and other activities in the winter.
“We’re looking at year-round activities, fountains, plazas, potential parks where you could have multi-uses like a . . . farmer’s market, a winter festival, you could have food trucks as a pop-up,” a representative for Piatt said during the meeting.
Future plans include 300 apartments, restaurants and shopping, plenty of docking for boats and more.
Representatives for Piatt said they will also be working in the esthetic of the Manchester/Chateau neighborhood with brick and steel work incorporated into the designs.
The project is expected to support more than 9,000 jobs with operations bringing more than 4,000.
The project goes to City Council for a vote with a ground breaking expected in 2025.
Phase One could be completed between 2027 and 2028.
