Police asking for help in University of Pittsburgh sexual assault case

Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh Police are asking the public for help regarding a sexual assault suspect.

The Trib reports, according to university police, an assault occurred at the Bridge on Forbes apartment complex overnight between midnight and 2:30 a.m.


Authorities say that the suspect introduced himself to the victim as Damien. The police have a limited description of him.

College women aged 18-24 are reportedly 3 times more likely to be victims of sexual assault and 13% of students experience rape or sexual assault while at university.

As recently as 2019, Pitt reported 26% of undergrad women and 6.6% of undergrad men experienced sexual assault while attending the university.
