PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police Zone 3 officers responded to a call for domestic assault Saturday in the 100 block of Freeland Street.
Officers arrived at the scene around 9:55 p.m. to find a female victim with facial injuries who had left her residence.
Medics evaluated her before officers attempted to call out the male domestic partner, who was still in the residence.
It is believed that the male barricaded himself in while disregarding verbal commands.
SWAT was called in just to be safe, but after two hours, it was determined that the male had left the home.
An investigation has been opened into the event.
