PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — President Joe Biden is making his first official trip to Pittsburgh as commander in chief Wednesday.
Air Force One is expected to arrive around 3:00 p.m.
Then the president will visit the Carpenters Pittsburgh Training Center across from Settler's Ridge off the Parkway West around 4:30 p.m.
It's all part of his nationwide pitch to promote his $3 trillion plan to support new infrastructure, including funding for bridges, roads, and electrical grids.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki says the plan is more than fixing roads.
"Making an investment in America, not just modernizing our roads, our railways, our bridges but building an infrastructure of the future," said Psaki.
That also includes a Democratic call to green and renewable energy over fossil fuels.
The White House calls the plan "Build Back Better."
But critics call it a huge tax increase on small businesses and anyone who earns more than $400,000 a year.
The plan would raise the corporate income tax from 21 to 28% — an increase that will likely lead to higher prices on goods and services.
