Rainfall totals highest in Allegheny County

Coraopolis, Mt. Lebanon and Avella received over 5 inches of rain from the storm.

So now that the big storms are over, who fared the worst as far as rain totals?

Alicia Miller, a hydrologist with the National Weather Service office here in Pittsburgh, tells us who got the highest amounts:


"Jefferson Hills had 5.72, and then Coraopolis Heights and Imperial had 5.18", she says. "And it did vary, but Allegheny County did seem to get some of the highest amounts. The range was between 2 to 4 inches with close to 6 in a few places".

Other totals include: just over 5 in Mt Lebanon, 4.8 inches in Pittsburgh.

Beaver County: Almost 2 inches in Aliquippa.

Butler County: just under 2 inches in Cranberry.

5.1 inches in Avella, Washington County. Over 4.5 in Canonsburg.

In Westmoreland County, New Kensington got 3.8 inches 3.4 in Greensburg.

Miller telling Larry and Kevin on the NewsRadio KDKA morning show that overall, we got almost three times the amount of normal rainfall in the month of August.
