Rash of shootings around Pittsburgh over the weekend

The Pittsburgh area was rattled by several shootings over the weekend.

In Penn Hills, a 30-year-old male was found shot dead inside a vehicle.

Allegheny County Police say the incident occurred on Friday night around 10:42 p.m. in the 1100 block of Frankstown Road. That investigation is ongoing.

In Point Breeze, 17-year-old Aliah Johnson was at the house of her boyfriend, 16-year-old Emeka Moye-King, on Saturday night.

According to a criminal complaint, they were upstairs at the North Linden Avenue home watching TV when Moye-King gave Johnson his handgun to look at before leaving to use the bathroom.

When he came back, he took the gun from her with his finger on the trigger and put it on the dresser.

that's when the gun suddenly went off, a bullet striking Johnson in the head, killing her.

Pittsburgh Police say Moye-King is facing charges of criminal homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Early Sunday morning, a 24-year-old male was shot in the head in North Braddock.

County Police say that they were notified of multiple shots fired in the 1700 block of Madison Avenue.

He was taken to the hospital and was last listed in critical but stable condition.

Two people were shot around 11:40 p.m. on Friday night in Mt. Oliver. County Police say the shooting in the 100 block of Fremont Street resulted in one person being grazed by a bullet and another was shot in the leg.

The person grazed was treated at the scene and the other victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Pittsburgh Police say a man was shot in the backside early Sunday morning in Homewood.

Officials say they responded to a Shotspotter alert in the 7700 block of Frankstown Avenue around 3:40 a.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital listed in stable condition. A suspect fled the scene and is still at large.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the shoulder on Mt. Washington Sunday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Poly say the incident occurred in the 100 block of Laclede Street and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police also found a vehicle and home that were hit with bullets.

An investigation continues in that case.
